A World Of Beauty
Since 1993 Paris has been travelling the world searching for and sourcing beautiful and rare samples of fine jewellery. Collections come from diverse places across the globe; Mexico, Israel, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Poland, and Turkey to name a few.
Still run and operated by Paris, all the jewellery is hand selected and carefully chosen with the same enthusiasm and passion as in its beginning over two decades ago.
With emphasis on the contemporary, soft lines and clean designs, Paris’ heart is in the unusual and modern, as well as in the designs he personally creates.
Paris was born and raised in Argentina. With both parents being professional designer/ architects, exposing Paris throughout his childhood to the concepts of aesthetics beauty and balance. The influence of this back ground has been clearly seen in the exquisite fit out and displays of his shops, as well as in the uniqueness, grace and allure of the jewellery that he designs and imports.
This line of work is more a passion than just a business for Paris, whose attention to detail and dedication to customer service have been a trademark from the beginning of his long involvement with jewellery.
Paris, who operated the Ixtlan jewellery shop in Byron Bay for the last 22 years, left that shop in November 2014. He is no longer involved in the running of the shop in Byron Bay nor is he responsible for the design or production of any of their pieces any longer.
Paris is now fronting the new Ixtlan Melbourne jewellery store and the Paris Argentina jewellery store, joining the ranks of the Melbourne jewellers in Fitzroy’s old jewellery quarter amongst Gertrude Street’s boutique shops as well as the iconic Block Arcade in Melbourne’s CBD. Paris is continuing the long tradition of unique designer jewellery and custom made jewellery that he loves please visit the shop in Gertrude Street, Fitzroy and Block Place, Melbourne CBD to admire the beauty of his work.
Journey To Ixtlan, Paris and Argentina!
The name Ixtlan was taken from cult author Carlos Castaneda’s book ‘Journey To Ixtlan’ – in the early days of trading Taxco, Mexico was a regular source of jewellery for the shop, and the name and story of the novel appealed to Paris’ sense of the mystery, to his experience of travelling to exotic places searching for gems and dazzling pieces of jewellery to bring home to the shop and offer to you.
The second shop is called Paris Argentina after Paris himself and because he comes from Argentina, a country with a long history of unusual and sophisticated design.
Come and visit our beautiful stores in Melbourne’s Fitzroy, and Melbourne’s CBD and take the journey to Ixtlan’s delights yourself.
