Modern and Elegant Blue Tourmaline Handmade Gold Ring
Blue Tourmaline evokes the tranquility of deep blue water and gliding well beneath its surface. It invites surrender of all thought to the solitude of a liquid silence, a graceful world of letting go… then rising to the light. It is also known as Indicolite, a variation of the original Indigolite, and refers to its deep blue color. Rarer than other Tourmalines, it forms in shades of light to dark blue, some with a tint of turquoise.
The Stone in this ring is 12 X 6 mm in size and 3.7 Carats in weight. It is quite a dark colour stone and it has a fair amount of deep green as well as deep blue in its reflection.
This stone also have some natural inclusions, it is not a completely clear stone.
I made this ring combining 9 Ct white gold for the setting, half setting (with open sides) to optimise the light and visibility of the stone and a 9 Ct Yellow gold band for contrast. I also used a flat band to match the rectangular shape of the stone and sharpness of the setting.

The top of this ring is 13.1 mm X 8 mm and its current size is “p 1/2” but it can easily be resized if required.
