Spring 2018 Must Have Accessory Trends
So, as Winter is drawing to a close and we can finally shed our big woolly coats, I’m excited to start talking about Spring style!
I’ve always been a fan of big and bold so the accessory trends for this Carnival season are right up my alley. In fact, my opinion is that the bolder and brighter, the better. From oversize sunglasses to larger than average earrings, accessories this Spring are really about making a “wow” statement.
My list of current “must have” accessories starts with Chunky Bracelets. This season’s fashion is all about antique pink, sky or electric blue, sheer floral prints and ruffle trim. A couple of hefty gold or silver cuff bracelets together on one wrist make a nice contrast to this floaty feminine look
At the moment, the bolder, the better is definitely true for earrings. I’m talking about larger than average hoops, simple shapes in Silver or Gold or extravagant drop earrings. Don’t hold back
I know big glasses are not everyone’s cup of tea but if sunglasses are your style, one of the latest shapes is sort of a cross between round and square with a slightly eighties feel. (Also popular is the large Cat eye). Brightly coloured frames and lenses, some with fun metallic detail on the sides add a funky rock and roll look to any outfit.
And talking of embellishments, wide waist belts with fancy buckles, studs or metal work can bring any plain dress to life. I’m a bit picky about belts and only go for real leather. It lasts and just looks so much better. I recently found some beautiful belts at Maje in Melbourne’s CBD.SHORT NECKLACES
Last but not least is short Necklaces worn at the base of the neck in silver or gold with pearl details. Another way to go is a Short, thick chunky chain necklace (or two) worn over a roll neck top or with a ruffled blouse or floral dress. It’s a classic yet bold and edgy look
